I have a number of developmental projects underway. All of these collections are at least halfway through and are actively being worked on. They will be offered for exhibition as they become complete.<\/p>\n

Desert dreams<\/h4>\n

 Every migrant worker, regardless of ethnicity, home country, skill or profession faces a shock on arriving and settling into their new country, and this is most pronounced during the first month. So much so, that for the majority of migrant workers decide whether or not to continue with working away from home during this period.<\/p>\n

At times, everything seems unreal, and life becomes a blur, things passing one by without full comprehension.<\/p>\n

This highly conceptual project seeks to capture a migrant’s sense of unease and disquiet, particularly in relation to the workforce in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

When complete, this series will comprise of 30 12×16 inch images, hand printed in the darkroom on colour photographic paper.<\/p>\n

 The Heartlands project is still ongoing with every visit to the UK. The images on the right were taken in Winter 2018, and are yet to be printed and toned.<\/p>\n

These will be taken throughout the year, and at the end of 2018, a final collection will be printed.<\/p>\n

An early sub-set of this collection was exhibited at the Gardens Gallery in Cheltenham and received positive reviews. (For more details on the Heartlands project see here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The Shape of Old Arabia<\/h4>\n

Christopher has continued collecting images that represent the Arabian past. Some of these are genuinely old artefacts, others are modern fabrications designed to create a romantic view of Arabia’s past.<\/p>\n
This collection is being printed as a series of 8 x 10 inch salt prints. The printing process has been designed to capture the essence of Arabia and uses both water from the Gulf (as part of the sensitising coating), together with the harsh desert sunlight for exposure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":[],"yoast_head":"\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t\n
